Terms of Service

Effective August 20, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Jack Ullmann, a sole proprietor based in Virginia, USA, doing business as ATLAS Life ("we," "us"). They govern your use of the iOS app ATLAS Life: Personal OS (Apple ID 6780263363 — "ATLAS," "the app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. They are written in plain English on purpose; if anything is unclear, email jackullmannn@gmail.com.

1. Who can use ATLAS

You must be at least 13 years old to use ATLAS — 16 where local law requires a higher minimum. The app is not directed at children under 13. By using the app you confirm you meet the age requirement.

2. Your account

You need an account to use ATLAS, created with your email or via Sign in with Apple or Google. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself: you are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Give us accurate information, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. ATLAS is not medical advice

This section matters more than any other, so it comes first among the substance:

• ATLAS is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
• State scores, coaching, briefings, insights, and anything the assistant tells you are informational only. They are computed from data you provided and are not a substitute for professional judgment.
• For any health concern, consult a qualified professional. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something the app showed you.
• If you think you have a medical emergency, contact emergency services — not the app.

4. Subscriptions and billing

The core app is free to use. ATLAS also offers an optional paid subscription (US$9.99 per month at the time of writing; the exact current price is always shown in the App Store before you buy).

• All billing goes through Apple In-App Purchase. We never see or store your payment details.
• The subscription auto-renews monthly until you cancel. Cancel any time in iOS Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly.

5. Text messaging

ATLAS offers an optional, opt-in text messaging feature (launching soon). The full details live in the Privacy Policy; the summary:

• You only receive texts for features you explicitly opted in to — consent is per-feature, and using the app never opts you in automatically.
• Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and your opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties.

6. Acceptable use

Use ATLAS for its intended purpose: understanding and improving your own days. Do not:

• use the app for anything unlawful, or to harm others;
• probe, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure;
• attempt to access another person's account or data;
• reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the app or service except where the law expressly allows it;
• resell the service or use it to build a competing product from our systems or data.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Your content

Everything you put into ATLAS — logs, journal entries, photos, voice input, health data — is yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to host, store, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate and provide the service to you (for example, syncing it across your devices or generating a coaching reply you asked for). That license exists for no other purpose, and it ends when your content is deleted, subject to the 30-day deletion window described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Our intellectual property

The app itself — its code, design, interface, branding, and the ATLAS Life name — belongs to us. Your subscription or use of the app gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use it, not ownership of any part of it. Do not use our branding without written permission.

9. Privacy

How we handle your data — including Apple HealthKit data and SMS consent — is covered in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

ATLAS is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. This is a personal app built by one person: we work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores and insights will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the app. Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the app is capped at the amount you paid us through the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

12. Termination

You can stop using ATLAS at any time, and you can delete your account in-app — deletion of your server-side data follows the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — your content license wind-down, IP, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law — survive.

13. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. For material changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use ATLAS after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or the app will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and both sides consent to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

15. Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app, and they replace any prior understandings.
